Can I Vote?

You are eligible to vote in Georgia if:

​

  • You are a US citizen – either by birth or by completing the naturalization process

  • You are a legal resident of the county where you are registering

  • You are at least 17½ years old and will be 18 on election day

  • You are not serving a sentence for conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude

  • You have not been found mentally incompetent by a judge

Your Rights Under Federal Law

  • Vote free from intimidation

  • Cast a vote by provisional ballot

  • Receive assistance when voting

    • You can bring or ask anyone to help you except for your employer, an official of your labor union, a candidate on your ballot, or the family member of a candidate on your ballot.

Your Rights Under Georgia Law

  • Vote free from intimidation

  • Vote, if you are in line by the time polls close

  • Ask to vote by provisional ballot

  • Go to the front of the line if you are 75+ years old or have a physical disability (between 9:30am and 4:30pm on Election Day or anytime during Early Vote).
