Registration Deadline: October 6th. If you aren’t registered by this date or if you have a change of address which needs updating, it must be done by this date. If not, you cannot vote in this fall’s election. Click here to register or update.

Public Service Commissioners General Election

In the November General Election, Peter Hubbard will run against incumbent Republican Fitz Johnson for District Three. In District Two, Democrat Alicia Johnson will face incumbent Republican Tim Echols.​​

The candidates must live in their respective districts, but the election is open to the entire state. â€‹


The Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) regulates public utilities, including electric, gas, and telecommunications. The PSC sets rates and oversees investments in energy resources like power plants. The 2025 Municipal elections are non-partisan. In Coweta County they can include the city Mayor and City Council. You can only vote if you live within the city limits of your city.

The following referendums are on the ballot for Coweta County, the Coweta County Board of Education and the listed municipalities:

Coweta County

​

  • The proposed ballot measures is a call or Floating Local Option Sales Tax for Property Tax Reduction (FLOST): The voters of the County will determine the question of whether a one percent county special floating local option sales and use tax (the “FLOST”) shall be imposed on all sales and uses in the special district of Coweta County for a period of time not to exceed 20 calendar quarters for the raising of approximately $220,000,000 exclusively used to reduce property taxes.

Coweta County Board of Education

 

  • General Election for a Homestead Exemption:  Voters in all the election districts in Coweta County will determine the question of whether there shall be approved a homestead exemption from Coweta County School District ad valorem taxes for educational purposes which raises the homestead exemption from $60,000.00 to $75,000.00 of the assessed value for residents of that school district who are 65 years of age but less than 71 years of age, from $85,000.00 to $100,000.00 of the assessed value for residents of that school district who are 71 years of age but less than 75 years of age, and from $115,000.00 of the assessed value to a full exemption from all ad valorem taxes for educational purposes for residents of that school district who are 75 years of age or older.

  • Continuation of the Educational Special Local Option Sales Tax: Voters in all the election districts in Coweta County will determination the question of whether a sales and use tax of one percent for educational purposes shall be continued on all sales and uses in Coweta County for a period of time of 20 calendar quarters commencing upon the expiration of the one percent sales and use tax currently in effect and for the raising of not more than $276,475,697.  If the imposition of such tax is approved by the voters, such vote shall also constitute approval of the issuance of general obligation debt of the School System in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $60,000,000.00.
